Sunday, May 22nd. After all the events leading up to the wedding, this is a welcome chance to relax and see a bit of Scottsdale before continuing on to the Grand Canyon and Sedona AZ. Not a lot of chatter in this section. Here are a few pics of the area.
An interesting set of contrasts. The art above is of old times, while the architecture below is definitely contemporary and quite nice in this setting.
For all that, its still a commercial and residential area.
They have an incredible number of older cars in this area. My brother in law Jim would probably like this Mustang parked on the street near the Valley Ho. It was in great condition.
Ann and I, and my brother and sister in law Jim and Sharon Mather, will be departing for the Grand Canyon in the morning. I've got the Grand Canyon Special Flight Rules Area map and have been studying it to see how to navigate this area. Should take about 2 hours to get up there and to make our way through the general aviation corridors allowing overflight. Just hope its not too bumpy as winds are forecast to be quite high tomorrow.
